About us

Hello! We're the Edible Gardeners,
Jim and Sonja.

We live on a 1.5 acre smallholding on the Irish Sea coast of the Rhins of Galloway, where we've been growing all our own fruit and vegetables for several years. That's right: we're entirely self sufficient in fruit and vegetables in southwest Scotland.

That doesn't mean that we endure a dull diet, lacking in variability and interest. Even in the depths of winter we often remark that never before in our lives have we eaten as well as we do now.

So many bad news food stories in the media these days! Contamination, disease, shortages, price hikes: Now is the time to take steps to improve food security for you and your family.

Growing your own gives you access not only to the very best quality ingredients, free of unwanted chemicals, but also to an endless array of varieties that never appear in the shops, simply because nobody bothers to grow or supply them commercially.

When you turn over a bit of your garden to food production, you'll find yourself enjoying the freshest, greenest, safest, most delicious and most interesting produce available anywhere!
